Step by Step
This is a full tour of Taipei: it lasts approximately 8-9 hours and includes travel in a comfortable air-conditioned vehicle. You will meet the driver and local guide at your accommodation, as hotel pick-up is included. The itinerary would include points of interest such as:
- Longshan Temple: one of its jewels is the splendid coffered ceiling of the Hall of Five Gates.
- Chiang Kai-shek Memorial: a monumental gate inspired by Beijing's Tiantan.
- Lin An Tai House Museum: a magnificently preserved traditional Chinese house.
- The Grand Hotel: a huge hilltop palace with red columns and a golden roof. The architecture pays homage to the Chinese imperial style.
- National Palace Museum: contains a wealth of ancient Taiwanese and Chinese artefacts. Admission is included.
You could also stop by the Shilin Night Market, Taipei's largest and best-known night market. On the ground floor you'll find fresh produce, clothing, souvenirs and much more. On the first basement floor there are stalls with local street food.
