Booking an Everglade tour from Miami is the best way to get the most out of what this park has to offer, without worrying about the logistics, such as transportation.

In fact, in the case of Everglades National Park, transportation is essential, because much of the park can only be explored by water, for example, on an airboat.

Florida's wildlife will blow your mind: alligators, crocodiles, exotic snakes and a great variety of birds and fish will make this day an unforgettable experience. By the way, the alligator show will blow your mind. Word of mouth.

A trip to the Everglades with a Miami cruise is one of the best things to do on a Miami holiday, as no trip to Miami would be complete without a boat ride on the warm waters of Biscayne Bay and, as you know, touring the Everglades is a must-do.

This excursion could well be described as one of contrasts, as it perfectly reflects the diversity of Florida and the United States in general. On the one hand, during the Biscayne Bay cruise you will be able to contemplate the impressive cityscape of Miami, a luxury skyline.

On the other hand, when you cruise through the mangroves of the Everglades Park aboard an airboat you will be able to observe the wildlife of this natural tropical park, such as crocodiles, herons, and much more.

  • Price: from 67€.
  • Duration of tour: 6 hours.

Everglades tour from Miami for small groups

I'll be honest, one of the drawbacks of some tours is the number of people on the same day. By booking a small group Everglades tour from Miami you won't have that problem, as you'll only be sharing the experience with about 12 people at a time.

This way, the experience will be much more personalised and you'll have time to see more things. For example, three key areas of the Everglades Park:

  • Miccosukee Indian Reservation: home to the Miccosukee tribe of Native Americans.
  • Shark Valley: a geological depression within the Park.
  • Tamiami Trail: a grassy river that you'll travel by airboat.

As for the fauna, you'll see flamingos, herons, manatees, otters, alligators, crocodiles... and the flora is not to be missed either. It is not for nothing that the Everglades is the largest subtropical natural park in the United States, a World Heritage Site and home to a unique ecosystem in the world

Tips for a trip to the Everglades

There's no doubt that a trip to the Everglades from Miami is among the best and most fun things to do in Miami, as long as you 're properly prepared:

  • Sunscreen and sunglasses in the state of Florida are a must, as it's an area with bright sunshine all year round and your skin and eyes should be protected to avoid sunburn.
  • Bring a pair of binoculars with you so you won't miss anything during the tour. Keep in mind that you should always keep a safe distance from the animals for safety reasons and to avoid disturbing their natural habitat.
  • The humidity in the Everglades is conducive to the growth of many insects; if you don't want to end the day with hundreds of bites, be sure to use repellent and carry it with you in case you need to reapply.
  • You can bring your own snacks to snack on during the tour. Just remember to respect the park rules, which include taking any waste back with you and not feeding any of the animals.
  • Dress as comfortably and practically as possible. Bear in mind that summer in Miami can be hot and humid, while winter in Miami is much wetter, with occasional cold winds from the north, so bring warm clothing.

The Everglades experience was amazing, very educational and the guide was very knowledgeable, but the Miami city tour was a bit rushed and I would have preferred more time to explore.
