More about: Seville Observation Deck Tickets and Tours
Seville, with its crossroads of styles and buildings from different periods, is a picturesque city of singular beauty. As well as having some of the most beautiful cobbled streets in Spain, it also has tall buildings and a captivating skyline, which can be discovered from the Andalusian viewpoints.
Visiting the Giralda of the Cathedral, the top of the Torre de Oro, the elevated corridor of Las Setas and the terrace of the Schindler Tower are among the best things to do in Seville if you want to see this destination from above.
1. Giralda of Seville Cathedral
The Giralda of Seville Cathedral is one of the most emblematic monuments of the city and, without a doubt, one of the best viewpoints to enjoy its views. This ancient minaret of the Almohad mosque, converted into a Christian bell tower after the Reconquest, stands 104 metres high, dominating the cityscape of this destination.
Visiting Seville Cathedral and climbing to the top of the Giralda will not only offer you a unique historical experience, but will also give you the opportunity to admire the city from a unique perspective. Moreover, one of the most fascinating features of this bell tower is its structure. Its base, dating from the 12th century, reflects Islamic architecture, while its top, added in the Renaissance, houses the bell.
Also, unlike other towers, it does not have stairs, but a series of ramps that make it easy to climb to the top. This was designed so that the muezzin, who is in charge of calling to prayer, could ride up on horseback. It is now an excellent opportunity for people with reduced mobility or if you plan to visit Seville with small children.
