What's more, if you're going to visit it with children, there are numerous proposals for them to enjoy: theme parks, interactive museums, bike rides and ancient cities. Come with me and I'll show you 11 plans that will give your kids a great time.

When you travel with children, one of the main dilemmas is to make sure they don't end up bored while the adults see the main monuments and museums in Seville. However, in the capital of Seville, many of its tourist attractions are so well anchored in time and are such impressive places that the little ones at home will be left with their mouths wide open. A good example of this is the Alcázar of Seville.

This enormous and dazzling set of palaces has architectural samples from various periods and dates back to Al Andalus. For adults it can be quite a cultural experience to get to know this place up close, but for children it is also the perfect setting in which to let their imagination run wild.

The large galleries, colonnaded corridors and gardens will transport them to a world of fantasy. In addition, for the more curious, you can find free audio guides in the Alcázar itself , adapted for children to learn about the place in a didactic and fun way. There are many options for visiting the Alcázar, here are some of the options available:

Useful information

  • Price: general admission is around 22 € but children under 13 years old have a symbolic price of 1 €.
  • Location: the Alcázar is located in the Patio de Banderas, right next to the Cathedral.
  • Opening hours: from 9:30 am to 5 pm.

The Giralda and the Alcázar are all very well but who doesn't fancy a day full of fun and adrenaline? If you come to Seville with children you can't miss a day out and visit the biggest theme park in the whole of Andalusia, Isla Magica.

With all kinds of rides, roller coasters and water rides, this place is ideal for an entertaining family day out. In addition to the rides, Isla Magica has different themed areas, the highlight of which is the pirate show.

Children can watch the pirates storm the fort, eat in the themed restaurants and take part in the different games and attractions designed for them. If you want to keep them smiling all day long, you have to go and spend the day at this very special park.

Interesting facts

  • Price: general admission is around 25 € but children's admission is approximately 15 €.
  • Location: Isla Magica is located in the Spanish Pavilion, near the Isla de la Cartuja.

If you are travelling with young children to Seville and they are animal lovers, I can't think of a better plan to do during your holidays than to go to the Aquarium of Seville.

Located very close to Plaza España, this place has up to 36 fresh and salt water tanks and has a wide selection of flora and fauna from all over the world. It's a perfect opportunity for the kids to learn a little more about the bottom of the sea and raise awareness about the environment.

The facilities are also great if you're coming to Seville in summer, as you'll be able to escape the heat for a few hours. The aquarium has up to 7,000 marine animals and has designed different themed visits designed for children, such as, for example, the route that Magellan took on his voyage around the seven seas. You can't miss it!

Useful information

  • Price: general admission is around 18 € but children can enter for 13 € and if they are under 4 years old they are free. You can also find discounts for large families, spectator days or family packs.

If you want the children in your family to live a different experience and be transported back in time, I can't think of a better plan than visiting the ancient Roman city of Italica. An original architectural sample of what Hispania was like centuries ago. The ruins are only 10 kilometres from the city centre of Seville and Italica can be easily reached by car or bus.

But don't think that you're just going to visit a set of ruins. The entrance ticket includes a guided tour that will take you around the main sites and explain everything in detail. In addition, so that the kids can marvel even more, there are several daily shows in which the place is dramatised, with actors dressed as Romans who recreate what life was like there.

Seville has beautiful villages, but this will undoubtedly be an unforgettable experience for the children, who will be able to be the protagonists of the Roman Empire for a day.

Interesting facts

  • Price: general admission is 20 € and children 15 €. However, you can opt for a ticket with transport for €42 and €21 respectively.
  • Location: the ruins are located at Av. Extremadura, 2, in the village of Santiponce.
  • Opening times: Tuesday to Sunday from 9am to 3pm or 6pm, depending on the season. Closed on Mondays.

Seville may be full of streets and dreamy neighbourhoods, but we must admit that what young children enjoy the most when they are on holiday is to get out of the routine and do different activities. For these cases, I have prepared an ideal plan for you: a boat trip on the Guadalquivir.

Don't forget that the river that surrounds this beautiful city is the famous Guadalquivir and being able to sail on one of the many boat trips on offer is one of the most popular with the little ones.

On the banks of the river, you can find different tours and boat trips with which you can have a good time with the family. These tours usually last an hour and a half and, while you can see the main tourist attractions such as the Giralda from the boat, the little ones enjoy the experience of sailing along this iconic river.

Interesting facts

  • Price: prices are around 23 €.
  • Location: Most tours depart from the docks near Puerta de Jerez and Plaza España.
  • Timetable: they usually last 1:30 hours.

There are many ways to get around Seville and visit all its places. If you come for only a few days, it is advisable to make the most of your time and go by metro, and if you have more time, you can walk around the city on foot. However, when you come with children, the distances can be longer than you want and that's why one of the alternatives that can be more fun for them is to take a bike tour of Seville.

Whether you choose to rent bikes on your own for the whole day or you hire one of the many bike tours around the city, it's true that it's a different way of getting around Seville.

The truth is that it is a different way of getting to know Seville, a city that is striking and very comfortable for this means of transport, where you can discover its main attractions and also have fun and take care of the environment. The kids will arrive at the end of the day with their batteries exhausted and will have enjoyed the visit more than anyone else.

Interesting facts

  • Price: guided bike tours usually cost around €29 and rentals around €10.

The Museo de las Ilusiones (Museum of Illusions) is a place that children will love on your trip to Seville. Here they can enjoy an experience for all the senses thanks to the thousands of optical illusions, games with holograms and 3D puzzles that they will find in its different rooms.

Both adults and children will be amazed by the vortex tunnel or the mirages that will make you believe you are where you are not in this museum that confuses your senses. Spend a fun and surprising afternoon in this unique place in Seville's capital.

Interesting facts

  • Price: general admission is around 16 €.

Seville is full of green spaces where you can spend a nice time with your family. If you are travelling with children, you must visit the Maria Luisa Park, a green space next to Plaza España with fountains, walkways and sculptures.

It is considered one of the most beautiful and popular urban lungs in Seville and, as well as being a breath of fresh air in the middle of the city centre, it has different children's areas with slides and swings for the little ones to have fun.

However, if you want to spend a little more time and go with the whole family to spend a day outdoors and prepare a picnic, I recommend you to go to the Alamillo Park, a large green area north of the city that you can reach by bus and that offers large esplanades, trails, bike and skate rentals and train rides. A wonderful place for the whole family to enjoy away from the hustle and bustle of the city centre.

Interesting facts

  • Price: admission is free.
  • Location: located opposite the Polígono Norte, on the A-8083 road, less than 4 kilometres north of the centre.
  • Opening times: open every day of the year from 7am to 10pm.

Whether it's science, astronomy, nature or culture, at CaixaForum you can be sure of an entertaining morning where the kids will have a great time. There is nothing a child enjoys more than a good adventure, and Seville specialises in this, as near the Guadalquivir there is the great Navigation Pavilion, where all the remains of the great voyages that were made by ship during the Spanish Empire are on display.

This space, designed for Expo 92, even has samples of the ships that Columbus used to reach America centuries ago.

Children will be able to see with their own eyes the models and original remains of those legendary ships, as well as whale skeletons and all kinds of navigational utensils. You can also see Seville as a family from above, as this pavilion has the so-called Torre Mirador (Lookout Tower), which has privileged views.

The little ones can learn more about the adventures on the high seas during the discovery of America, visit the entire planetarium area and take part in geology or archaeology workshops.

La Casa de la Ciencia is an important science centre that has adapted perfectly to a younger audience and is one of the favourite places for children who come with their parents to visit Seville.
