On this adventure through the streets, you'll see some of the city's most emblematic sights. Among them is the Cathedral of San Ildefonso, the most important in the state. Founded in 1562, it is also the oldest in continental America.
Another point on your tour is a visit to the Lucas de Gálvez Market. Built in 1884 as a simple shed with three galleries, it was demolished, rebuilt and reopened in 1909 as a larger market made of masonry and a tin roof. Almost 40 years later, it was demolished to build the current one. Here you can sample some of the best street food in the Yucatecan capital.
