Step by Step

This 2-hour tour of the hidden Venice gives you the opportunity to get to know the city from a unique and different perspective. A professional guide, a specialist in Venetian history and culture, will take you to discover the legendary architectural wonders that are part of the region's imaginary.

You will have the opportunity to visit the majestic and imposing La Fenice Theatre, where masterpieces of world opera, such as Giuseppe Verdi's La Traviata and Vincenzo Bellini's Capulets and Montagues, among many others, were premiered.

You will stroll through the calm and quiet streets of the city, winding through alleys that keep their historical and unique essence, among which you will appreciate hidden places such as the churches of San Sebastiano and San Nicolò dei Mendicoli.

In the Campo Santa Margherita square you will discover restaurants, bars and secret terraces where you can try some of the delicacies of the local gastronomy and drinks such as the popular Venetian spritz, a cocktail typical of the area.

Of all the bridges that cross the city, you'll walk across the longest of them all, the Rialto Bridge. As you cross it, as well as admiring the beautiful scenery of gondolas on the Grand Canal, you'll come across the colourful and varied Rialto Market, where locals stock up on fresh fruit and vegetables.

Another must-see monument on this experience is the Palazzo Contarini del Bovolo, known for the impressive spiral staircase that juts out from its façade.

It was built in the 15th century and reflects shades of Byzantine, Gothic and Renaissance architectural styles. But it is not only its staircase that attracts the attention of tourists, but also its location: to reach it, you have to know the San Marco neighbourhood very well and go deep into its entrails, crossing different alleys until you reach your destination.

The experience was quite good, although I expected something more from this tour. Despite this, I am happy to have done it, I got to know many new areas and learned a lot about each one of them.
