Step by Step
This boat trip on the Grand Canal of Venice is one of the most romantic activities to do in the city and ideal for couples. This tour will be done in small groups of around 10 people to enhance the experience. A professional guide will accompany you on board while giving you interesting facts about the city.
The ride will last approximately 1 hour and you will be able to enjoy the beautiful views of Venice, with its colourful oriental facades, sailing gondolas and palaces. As you cross the main waterway, you will also pass under some of the picturesque bridges.
The Grand Canal flows into the Venice Lagoon, the wettest region in Italy. It is S-shaped and 4 kilometres long, dividing the city into two parts. In this activity you will pass under the 4 bridges of the canal: the Rialto Bridge, the Accademia Bridge, the Barefoot Bridge and the Constitution Bridge. The most common way to cross it is by gondola or vaporetto, a type of public water transport widely used due to the layout of the city.
As you travel along the Grand Canal, you'll be able to see iconic Venice landmarks such as:
- The Scalzi Church
- Loredan Vendramin Palace
- Ca'Pesaro
- Ca'd'Oro
- Grassi Palace
- Accademia
- Ca'Foscari
- Palazzo Corner della Ca'Granda
Cross the Grand Canal on a romantic date with your partner or with your family. Surprise them with the palaces and boats that sail along the so-called Queen of the Adriatic, and take home an unforgettable souvenir.
