Step by Step

Explore the Alps on this excursion to Mont Blanc and the alpine town of Courmayeur from Milan. In groups of around 50 people, you'll travel in a coach with a professional guide to this area of northern Italy, which borders Switzerland and France, over the course of a day of approximately 13 hours. With this booking you will also have the opportunity to visit the Saussurea, the highest botanical garden in the world, as well as a wine cellar.

The excursion starts from Milan and you will drive about 220 kilometres, or more than two hours on the road, to reach Courmayeur. This is an Italian town at more than 1,200 metres above sea level, on the border with France. From here you can take a cable car, whose ticket is included in the reservation, to start exploring different places.

One of them is the Saussurea botanical garden. It is located on the southern slopes of the Mont Blanc massif, where you will find more than 900 species. Some of the plants are endemic and will be labelled with a yellow dot to let you know which ones they are.

You will also have the opportunity to visit the Mont Blanc Cave and a high-altitude experimental winery to learn more about what can be done and maintained at this altitude, which can reach over 3,000 metres.

From there you will have breathtaking views, where you can also admire the Swiss and French Alps. Even if the weather conditions are good, you will be able to see the Mattherhorn, Switzerland's iconic mountain.

After the hike on the different peaks, you will have some free time and have lunch on your own in Courmayeur. There the professional guide will give you some essential tips for you to remember and buy the most typical things to do in this town.
