A tour of Munich with the Nightwatchman will allow you to get to know the city from a different perspective. Delve into its legends and learn all its secrets from an expert local guide, who will be perfectly dressed for the occasion.
For approximately 1 hour and a half, you'll feel like you're accompanying the city's real night watchman on one of his nights on the job. You will walk through the main sights of Munich' s Old Town, discovering its most hidden corners and some of its most mysterious stories, such as:
- The oldest church in the city, St. Peter's Church, where the night watchman saw the devil in the middle of the night. There will also be time to stop by the cemetery and recall the stories of the past.
- The Old Town Hall, the old city moat dating back to the 12th century, where Munich's first town hall is located and where the watchman spent long hours. It has much to tell of the city's most historic streets.
- Alter Hof. You will pass through the torture chamber and the city prison to reach the first castle of the Bavarian Dukes of Munich. The watchman will be able to tell you about his own experience there during the Impler uprising.
- The narrow alleys will lead you to the city's cathedral: Frauenkirche. There, you will see a time-worn gravestone, that of the widow Petronella Stromairin herself, who managed to evade the greed of her suitors.
