Step by Step
This canoe trip takes place in the Zambezi National Park and includes pick up and drop off at your hotel in Victoria Falls. An air-conditioned vehicle will drive you to the starting point, where you will meet a local guide. After an initial briefing with safety and itinerary advice, the journey across the water begins.
In total, the tour lasts approximately 5 hours and includes breakfast and lunch. Being surrounded by nature, lunch will be served in tents that are commonly used for camping in the bush. The menu usually includes salads, rice and chicken dishes. You are also entitled to drinks (alcoholic and soft drinks) and coffee.
Unlike kayaking, this activity takes place near Victoria Falls, but where the waters are calmer. The Zambezi riverbed and banks are home to a variety of wildlife and it is not uncommon to see buffalo, giraffe, elephant or waterbuck during the trip.
The activity is suitable for all ages. It is not necessary to have experience with canoes, but it is necessary to be in good physical condition, as the descent requires a good amount of energy and muscle. It is advisable to bring extra clothing (in case you don't dry out) and sunscreen to protect you from sunburn.
