This tour will take you to Mount Vernon, the historic estate that was the home of George Washington, the first president of the United States.
You will travel from Washington in a comfortable bus, along the historic Alexandria Road , a beautiful riverside landscape that leads to the mansion of one of the country's "Founding Fathers".
You will have free time to explore the sites of Mount Vernon at your own pace. From your departure from Washington DC, you will be accompanied by a professional guide who will tell you the essential history of the place.
You'll stroll through the lanes of Alexandria to see, among other monuments and legendary sites, the picturesque Old Town Waterfront, a promenade along the Potomac River lined with bars, restaurants and entertainment for tourists.
When you arrive at Mount Vernon, you'll be amazed by its exhibits of objects, clothing and furniture that belonged to George Washington in the second half of the 1700s, some preserved in perfect condition and others high quality replicas that recreate the era to perfection.
You will have the opportunity to explore the various areas of the mansion, including those that reflect one of the classic postcard images of Washington and his home: the beautiful gardens. You will also see its own nursery and greenhouse, as well as the beautiful piazza.
