Step by Step

Seattle is the most coffee-producing city in the United States and this walking tour will give you the chance to learn all about coffee, from growing to brewing. A local guide will accompany you through downtown, showing you the places where the best blends are found. The tour lasts about 2 hours and starts from a central Seattle location, such as at the foot of the Jimi Hendrix statue.

Coffee has triumphed in Seattle due to a number of factors: lower taxes than tea, a climate particularly conducive to hot beverages, and the vibrant cultural life that led to the opening of several coffee shops. It is no coincidence that Starbucks was born in this metropolis.

The route winds through Capitol Hill, Seattle's liveliest neighbourhood. Its flagship is Volunteer Park, in addition to the many bars, restaurants and nightclubs. Here you'll find the Starbucks Reserve Roastery, a roastery specialising in rare and premium coffees, as well as famous coffee shops such as Espresso Vivace, Wunderground and Caffe Vita.

Most of the tour takes place outdoors. For this reason, I advise you to wear comfortable shoes and clothes and, in winter, a scarf and a hat. You can also take the opportunity to ask the guide for some tips on where to eat and drink after the tour.
