Step by Step
Get to know the different species from the five continents that come together in the same place: the Central Park Zoo, in the heart of Manhattan. In this small space of more than 2 hectares, you can get up close to species that are in danger of extinction, such as red pandas and snow leopards. You can also immerse yourself in a 4D experience to learn more about the history of this park.
The zoo, which is open every day of the year, has three main sectors with different species:
- The Tropical Zone: white- and black-capped lemurs, white-faced saki monkeys, or cotton-top tamarins.
- The Temperate Territory: red panda bears or Japanese macaques
- The Polar Circle: up to 74 types of penguins
This zoo also has the Tisch Children's Zoo, a playful adventure for the little ones. Here they will find goats, sheep, some of the world's most unique ducks and the only cow living in Manhattan.
You'll also have the chance to see sea lions performing acrobatic stunts and see the keepers feeding the animals, including the 74 penguins on the premises.
This visit will connect you with the plight of wild animals on five continents and the conservation work being done to protect them.
