Step by Step

Visit the oldest plantations in the southern United States on this 6-hour tour. This experience includes admission to Laura and St. Joseph Plantations and a visit to Oak Alley Plantation.

Air-conditioned pick-up and drop-off from New Orleans is included, as well as all other transfers, so you don't have to worry about travel. Groups are always small, about 14 people per tour. This is done to make it a more comfortable and personal experience where you can talk calmly with your guide.

Throughout the tour you will be accompanied by a tour guide who will explain the history that took place years ago on the banks of the Mississippi River. This information will be given to you along the way, but also inside the plantations, so that you can associate the facts with the real landscape.

When you enter the Laura plantation, you will be able to see the impressive fields of sugar cane that were cultivated by the slaves in these areas. On this plantation, in fact, you will be able to see the small houses and neighbourhoods in which the slaves lived.

The story will not only be about the slaves, you will also learn about the families who lived there. Not forgetting the historical and architectural data about the mansions that ruled these places.

The tour was amazing and the guide's explanations were very good, the only thing that didn't convince me was the duration, it ended up being longer than we expected.
