A local guide will take you through the history of this architectural style that reigns supreme in the coastal city. It began in the 1920s and developed mainly after the outbreak of World War II in the late 1930s.
Art Deco is characterised by voluptuous elements as well as colourful facades and flora and fauna motifs in the architecture.
On this walking tour you will see the buildings erected during this era that have endured through time, such as The Carlyle Hotel, which has become a symbol of this style and has been featured as a location in numerous films, such as Scarface.
You will see other buildings located in Miami's Art Deco district, such as The Tudor Hotel. Your guide will take you in front of the Gianni Versace mansion, popular for its architecture and the story behind the building where the famous fashion designer was shot dead in 1997.
