Step by Step

Discover Ireland's stunning west coast with this half-day tour to the Dingle Peninsula and Slea Head from Killarney . Accompanied by a local guide and fellow travellers, you'll travel in a comfortable air-conditioned coach and travel along the Irish countryside. See the cliffs, unspoilt beaches and mountain scenery of the area, enjoy interesting commentary on board and then visit beautiful Dingle and Slea Head, the most westerly point in Europe.

Your day will begin with an early mid-morning departure from the centre of Killarney. Once on board, take a seat and relax as you head out into the lush Irish countryside, filled with rolling green hills and beautiful natural scenery. Along the way you'll pass through 2 small County Kerry villages, Miltown and Castlemaine and make a brief stop at the spectacular Inch Beach. Famous for its 2 miles of sandy beach to stroll along and for being the location of several Hollywood films such as the epic Ryan 's Daughter.

After a stroll along the beach and a morning coffee, the tour continues to the Dingle Peninsula, where you can enjoy panoramic views of the entire Atlantic coastline and the majestic mountains. Arriving in Dingle, a charming fishing village, you'll have time to explore its cobbled streets and see its colourful houses and cosy traditional pubs . Grab a drink and a bite to eat, and don't forget to visit the statue of Fungie, Dingle's famous local dolphin, which stands by the seafront.

The Dingle Peninsula is also known for its rich history and cultural heritage. During this tour you will have the opportunity to visit and explore the Gallarus Oratory, one of the region's archaeological gems and the best preserved early Christian church in Ireland. Stroll through this dry stone church dating back to the first centuries AD and enjoy the breathtaking views of Smerwick Harbour and Mount Brandon.

You'll then head to Slea Head, one of Ireland's most stunning coastal areas. Take a scenic 41-kilometre circular route and along the way see beehive huts, the rocky islands of Blasket and the spectacular cliffs and idyllic beaches that stretch along the coast.

Take some spectacular photographs to remember this trip by and after the Slea Head route make your way back to Killarney.
