Step by Step
On this tour you will have the opportunity, for about 2.5 hours, to get to know the historic centre of Houston. In a small group of about 14 people, you will have the opportunity to learn about the paranormal history of the Texan city .
At Char Bar, a converted former tailor shop, you'll meet your guide, who will be dressed in costume for the occasion.
In the historic Market Square district, you'll see Houston's oldest urban park . It's a lively area full of terraces and outdoor picnic spots. The park has been a centrepiece of Houston's geography since the city was founded nearly two centuries ago.
You'll also have the chance to stop at Dean's, a classically styled bar located downtown, famous for housing the oldest electric lift in Texas and the third oldest in the United States. Founded in 1891 as a clothing shop, it was formerly known as "The Kiam" and was once the tallest building in the city. In 1901, it was the first clothing shop in Houston to allow women to shop there.
At the luxurious ICON Hotel, you can gaze at the beautifully designed exterior architecture, and enjoy a drink while taking in the classic style of the interior. Originally home to the Union National Bank, the building is over 100 years old and it is said that the spirits of its founders still roam within its walls.
You'll hear stories of the city's oldest and most haunted bar at La Carafe. The building, which opened in 1860 as a bakery, is now Houston's oldest, and it's said that the bottles drop by themselves, the first owner sometimes appears peering from behind the window, and the screams of a small child can be heard upstairs at night.
Once at the Craft Beer Cellar, you can bid the evening farewell with a beer or two at this quaint craft beer joint.
