Step by Step

During this activity you will be guided by an expert guide through the key sites of John Fitzgerald Kennedy's assassination . You will have the opportunity to see the memorial designed by Philip Johnson for JFK, and learn about the details of its architecture and the meaning behind it.

You will pass the Dallas Municipal Building, where Lee Harvey Oswald was locked up as the prime suspect in the assassination. On his way out of the building on 24 November 1963, Oswald was assassinated, on camera and live. The assassin was Jack Ruby, a nightlife impresario with mob connections.

In Dealey Plaza, you can see the building from which Lee Harvey Oswald fired the two shots that killed the president. The same building now houses the Sixth Floor Museum, which exhibits President Kennedy 's life, work and legacy in context with American history.

At Grassy Knoll, you will see the site of Kennedy's car at the time of his assassination. The tour also includes a visit to the house where Lee Harvey Oswald lived, and another visit to the J.D. Tippit memorial.

Tippit was a policeman who was murdered by Harvey Lee Oswald after he was questioned by Oswald because of his suspicious attitude. This fact was corroborated by several witnesses, who later saw Oswald flee to the Texas Theatre, where he was eventually arrested.

If you decide to buy the JFK Museum tour option at Dealey Plaza, you can skip the line and go straight into the museum, which includes an audio guide.
