Step by Step

On this driving tour, you'll pass Dallas' main buildings, squares and sculptures as you learn about their history and importance from an expert guide.

You'll see the cabin of John Neely Bryan, Dallas' first settler and founder of the city, or the Memorial to John Fitzgerald Kennedy, Dallas being the city that saw him die.

You'll learn about the history of the Old Red Museum, the city's iconic building dedicated to preserving the culture and history of Dallas. In Pioneer Square, you'll have the opportunity to see one of the largest bronze sculpture ensembles in the world. A symbol of the Midwest, the square is home to numerous bronze bulls being herded by a horseman.

You'll see Thanksgiving Square, with its spiral building, and the historic Wilson Block neighbourhood, with its Victorian-style houses.

You'll also see Dallas City Hall, designed by architect Ming Pei, who designed the glass pyramid at the Louvre in Paris. You will see the Dallas Art District, home to numerous museums and the Dallas Opera, and you will see Dealey Plaza. This is where President John F. Kennedy was shot and assassinated in 1963.

    There were a few large people on the day I chose to go on the tour who took up most of the guide's attention. I was left with a few questions, but the tour was still remarkable.
