A road trip of around an hour from Edinburgh will take you to some of Scotland's most famous castles for you to enjoy as never before. These include:
- Douane Castle: this is a medieval fortress and has been used as a location for several films and series, such as Monty Python and Game of Thrones.
- Inveraray Castle: this castle is home to the Duke and Duchess of Argyll and their young family. The ancestral home of the Campbell clan, as well as being an iconic tourist attraction on the west coast of Scotland.
You will have time to visit both attractions, although entrance tickets are not included in the booking. During the tour, you will also have the opportunity to see Kilchurn Castle, a favourite castle for photographers because of its charm and because it is completely in ruins.
In addition to the castles, this tour will take in a magnificent panorama of the Scottish Highlands as you travel through the Arrochar Alps. You'll have some free time to take in the tranquillity of the area, as well as admire the tranquil lochs.
One of the most famous lochs you'll stop at is Loch Lomond, a 70 square kilometre loch that is the symbol of Scotland, as it sits on the fault line that separates the Lowlands from the Highlands.
