Valley of the Wandering Bard option

This route takes you through valleys steeped in history and past majestic Norman castles:

  • Caerphilly Castle: one of the most impressive castles in the UK, famous for its sheer size and strategic location. Here you can explore its medieval history and capture spectacular photos.
  • Tintern Abbey: A mystical place with panoramic views of the River Wye. Discover the ruins of this Cistercian abbey that inspired poets and artists over the centuries.
  • Chepstow Castle: Visit Wales' first Norman castle, perched on a cliff overlooking the River Wye. Enjoy a stroll through this charming market town.

Swansea Bay Option

If you prefer a coastal tour, the Swansea Bay option takes you to some of the most beautiful spots on the Welsh coastline:

  • Rhossili Bay: Enjoy one of Wales' most iconic beaches, overlooking the cliffs and the famous 'Worm's Head'.
  • Mumbles: Stop for lunch in this charming seaside town and try the world-famous Joe's ice cream(free time for lunch, not included).
  • Neath Abbey: Explore a 900-year-old abbey in the beautiful Vale of Neath, a place steeped in history and tranquillity.
  • Melincourt Waterfall: Known as the land of waterfalls, this region is home to one of the most impressive waterfalls, immortalised in the paintings of J.M.W. Turner. Turner. The hike to the waterfall is short, but offers spectacular views.
