Step by Step

Make the most of this tour to Al Ain from Abu Dhabi. In an air-conditioned vehicle, you'll drive the 150 kilometres to escape the hustle and bustle of the UAE's capital and enter this oasis city. This is a private tour that you and your companion or family can enjoy for around eight hours.

Along the way you'll have numerous stops, including access to theAl Ain National Museum and the Sheikh Zayed Palace Museum, a climb up Jebel Hafeet for an incredible panoramic view of the city and a visit to the hot springs. It is also an opportunity to have a typical Bedouin buffet to recharge your batteries for this excursion which will take place in a luxurious hotel in the city.

One of the stops you will make is at the Al Jahili Fort. One of the largest forts in the UAE, it was built in the late 19th century by Sheikh Zayed bin Khalifa I as a symbol of power and royal summer residence. The original fort consisted of a square fortified enclosure and a distinctive four-storey circular tower.

Museums you can visit with this reservation include:

  • Al Ain National Museum: the oldest museum in the Emirates, established in 1969 under the leadership of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the country's founder. Built to trace the history of Al Ain from the Stone Age to the founding of the UAE in 1971, the museum houses artefacts recovered from the region's many archaeological sites.
  • Sheikh Zayed Presidential Museum: This was the home of the UAE's founding father and the country's first president, Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who lived here with his family until the late 1960s when he moved to Abu Dhabi.

On this tour you can also visit a camel souk, where you can experience how the locals negotiate the buying and selling of the country's prized camels. You can also climb Jebel Hafeet to see the hot springs and take one of the best photographs on this tour, as you will see a magnificent panoramic view of Al Ain.
