The museum's permanent collection comprises some 700 works and groups of works of art from all periods and civilisations, ranging from prehistoric times to the present day. A further 300 works are on loan from partner museums.

The unique design of the Louvre Abu Dhabi exhibition explores the connections between civilisations and cultures that at first glance might seem far apart in time and geography.
