The Catedral Primada is one of the most important cathedrals in Spain. Throughout its history, it has witnessed all kinds of historical events. Therefore, on your visit to the city you cannot miss it and it is, without a doubt, one of the best things to do in Toledo.

In this article you can find out the price of tickets for the Cathedral, as well as the various discounts available and whether it is possible to get in for free.

Tickets for the Cathedral of Toledo Catedral Primada have an average general price of 10 €. Included in the price is a donation for the upkeep of the Cathedral and its museums, as well as for charitable purposes carried out by the Catholic Church. This price of around €10 is for both weekends and the three weekdays.

The ticket includes access to the Cathedral and all its museums and rooms. In case you want to buy it through the official site, the Cathedral's website does not offer this option. However, you can buy online a ticket with a guided tour.

In my opinion, it is ideal to buy the ticket with the guided tour, as this way you will be able to understand the different relics and parts that make up the cathedral. Otherwise, unless you are an art expert, there will be many details that you will miss.

If you prefer to buy tickets without a guided tour, you will have to buy them at the ticket office. The price of these tickets is the same as above, i.e. approximately €10.

However, please note that the ticket office closes at 18:00. In addition, you will have to wait in line, so you will lose time from your trip or your visit to the Cathedral. On the other hand, you should also take into account the opening hours of the Toledo Cathedral. Therefore, I recommend that, whenever possible, you buy your tickets online.

Yes, it is possible to enter Toledo Cathedral free of charge. However, with this option you will only be able to enter the naves of the church. Moreover, you will not be able to do so whenever you want, as this option has special opening hours. To be able to enter for free to the areas I have mentioned, you will have to do it from Monday to Friday from 8 am to 9:30 am.

As for whether it is worth it, my opinion is that it is not. The Primate Cathedral is one of the most important in Spain and Europe. It is an architectural ensemble with an impressive historical and artistic wealth. For the price of the tickets, I think it is worth paying for them and being able to see the cathedral in its entirety.

If, despite what I say, you still prefer free entry, I recommend you take a look at this article on what you can't miss in Toledo Cathedral.

Children under the age of 12 can enter Toledo Cathedral for free, but they must always be accompanied by a family member. I must clarify that this condition does not apply to groups.

Furthermore, those born in Toledo, as well as residents of the city, are also entitled to free admission. On the other hand, disabled people over 64% and their companion will also have free admission.

Also those over 65 years of age, members of large families and people with disabilities up to 64% are entitled to reduced admission. Reduced admission is valid on weekdays and weekends.

That is why, if you are travelling with your family, it is impossible for the Cathedral not to be part of your 1-day itinerary in Toledo.

If you want to add a guided tour to your ticket, the price is around 24€. These tours usually last about an hour and a half and have a maximum capacity of 30 people. Personally, I recommend you do the tour this way, the experience is well worth it.

Unless you are an art expert, there will be many things about the cathedral that you will miss and others that you will not understand the importance and value of. With this type of ticket, an expert guide will tell you about the history and curiosities of the Cathedral and its different parts. Moreover, this way you can be sure of getting in without queuing.

Tickets with a guided tour are usually free for children from 0 to 11 years of age. For children over 12 years of age, they will have to pay the same price as adults, as they do not receive a discount.

However, there are other activities in Toledo where the cost does change depending on the season. How to save money when visiting Toledo Cathedral

The most obvious advice I can give you if you want to save money when entering the Cathedral is to get in for free. However, this way, you will not be able to visit all the naves of the cathedral. On the other hand, you can also forgo the guided tour and do it on your own with a guide of the best things to see in Toledo Cathedral.

Normally, tourists who visit Toledo Cathedral usually finish the experience with some tapas in the nearby bars. If you want to save money, I advise you to bring your own snacks and drinks, although remember that no food of any kind can be consumed inside the temple.

You can also save on transport by hiring a tourist bus in Toledo. This type of transport allows you to get on and off as many times as you want, unlimited, at the marked stops, which usually coincide with the main tourist sites of the city.

Yes, there are tourist cards in Toledo that include the visit to the cathedral, as well as other main monuments of the city. These cards usually expire over a longer or shorter period of time, so you can carry out your itinerary in a relaxed way.

The prices of the cards vary depending on the number of monuments included, although the minimum is 7 monuments. They also include four guided walking tours of the centre of Toledo and a ticket for the tourist train.

A very beautiful cathedral, with a wonderful architecture that makes it different from the rest and with a much more interesting history than it seems. A visit is highly recommended for everyone.
