- Puerta del Sol: known as "Kilometre Zero", it is one of the most famous squares in the country. Its name comes from the fact that it faces the rising of the sun.
- Plaza Mayor: located in the centre of Madrid and completely surrounded by 3-storey brick buildings. It is a famous spot for its celebrations and civil events.
