Step by Step

In this activity you will have the opportunity, for about 11 hours, to get on a comfortable bus and visit Toledo, Avila and Segovia. These three cities are known for their vast and well-preserved cultural heritage, most of which is several centuries, and in some cases, millennia old.

Accompanied by an expert guide, you'll learn about the history of these three cities, and find out lots of interesting facts about them.

In Toledo, you'll walk through the streets of the historic centreand visit the Cathedral. The Cathedral of Santa María, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is almost 800 years old, as its construction began in 1226. Standing 92 metres high, it is known for being considered the first Gothic-style architectural work in Spain.

Once in Ávila, you will have the opportunity to see and walk along its famous medieval walls, considered to be the best preserved in Europe. The Romanesque-style fortification has more than 80 crenellated towers, and 9 gates that allow you to cross them .

You can also see the Cathedral of Ávila, an imposing building whose construction dates back to the 13th century. The building is over 700 years old and features a mixture of Romanesque and Gothic styles. In 1914, the cathedral was declared a site of cultural interest.

In Segovia you will see the famous Roman aqueduct, one of the oldest and best preserved in the world . Built at the beginning of the 2nd century, the aqueduct was active until 1973. It is worth noting that the stones of the aqueduct are not joined with mortar, but simply fitted together.

You will also have the opportunity to see the Alcázar of Segovia, the favourite castle of the Catholic Monarchs, from the outside . It stands on top of a rocky outcrop at the confluence of two rivers, and was considered impregnable in its day. Although it was originally built as a fortress, the Alcázar has also served as a palace, prison, artillery college and military academy. Nowadays, it can be visited as a museum.

Once the tour is over, you will return to Madrid by bus, on a round trip that will take you back to the original starting point.
