Step by Step
Barcelona has always been associated with fun, leisure and beaches, but Barcelona is home to equally interesting mysteries and horrors that you can discover in this experience. This approximately 1.5-hour tour includes a tour of Barcelona's Gothic Quarter, the city's oldest district.
Led by a professional guide, you'll wander the medieval streets of the Gòtic while listening to legends and ghost stories that envelop this district with an aura of mystery and horror that keeps attracting more and more tourists and curious onlookers.
The Gothic Quarter has its origins in the Middle Ages, where the construction of a multitude of churches and Gothic buildings buried the ancient Romanesque remains of the place. While it is an ideal district to enjoy, full of pubs, restaurants, bars and souvenir shops, there is a dark and spooky side to this neighbourhood that not everyone knows about.
As you wander through the labyrinthine and narrow medieval streets, you will hear stories, tales and legends of ghosts from the professional guide who will accompany you throughout. These mysteries contribute to the dark and spooky aura that has attracted so many tourists and travellers from all over the world.
Among them are the mysteries of Carrer Bisbe, where Archbishop Irurita is said to have been murdered by anarchists during the Spanish Civil War. There is also talk of satanic masses in the Convent of Santa Catalina, which was demolished and later converted into a market. In addition, one of the stories that has most disturbed travellers is that of the Ghost of Canales.
