Step by Step

Follow your tour guide as you take this tour of communism in Bucharest. During the approximately 3-hour experience you will learn all about this era, including its beginnings and the revolution that ended it.

Throughout the tour you will pass the most important political monuments where you will make a short stop to listen to the explanations of your expert guide and ask him questions as they occur to you.

You will discover how the dictator Ceausescu came to power, what everyday life was like for the inhabitants during this period, and even the development of the revolution that put an end to his rule.

The monuments and places you will visit stand out for their communist architecture, i.e. buildings with rectangular volumes, sober and colourless, in keeping with the ideology.

Among these monuments, some of the most outstanding are the Palace of Parliament and the medieval Antim monastery. Not forgetting the Republic Square or the Caru' cu Bere restaurant. All these places are totally related to important events in the communist history of Bucharest.
