Step by Step

Save and make the most of this offer of train tour, river cruise and visit to a winery in Oporto with this booking. In this activity, which lasts approximately two hours, you will have an audio guide at your disposal to get to know the main points of interest you will pass by on these means of transport. You will have the opportunity to go wine tasting in one of the most famous places in Europe.

With various timetables at your disposal, you will have the chance to ride on a small train, called the Magic Train, which will run through the centre of Porto. During the tour on this transport, you will be able to listen to the history of the places you will pass through with your audio guide in several languages.

In addition to the train tour, you will also have the opportunity to take a boat tour on the famous Douro River.

Both on the train and on the boat you will have the opportunity to discover places such as:

  • Porto Cathedral: built on the highest part of the city, this is the most important religious building in Porto. As the first belt of city walls, this temple was born in the 12th century.
  • Clérigos Tower: In 1753, at the request of the Brotherhood of Clerics, the Italian architect Nicolau Nasoni presented a project for a bell tower, and in 1754 work began on what would become a beautiful tower that dominates the entire urban landscape of Porto.
  • The Ponte de Dom Luis I: Completed in 1886 by a pupil of Gustave Eiffel, the upper deck of the bridge is now reserved for pedestrians as well as one of the city's metro lines; the lower deck carries regular traffic. The views of the river and the old town are breathtaking.

You will then have the opportunity to do two wine tastings in a wine cellar near the port. It is worth noting that Port wines are one of the classics of Europe. The most typical in this Portuguese city are the so-called fortified wines, whose characteristic is the addition of brandy to the wine when it is in the process of fermentation.
