Step by Step
This day tour will take us to two of the most important and moving places in Poland: the salt mines of Wieliczka and the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp.
We will start the day early in the morning and together with a local guide you will head to the first stop of the tour: the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp.
A place that represents one of the darkest chapters of human history. Here, you will have the opportunity to explore the grounds and buildings of Auschwitz I and Auschwitz II-Birkenau, while learning about the horrors that took place during the Holocaust. You will witness the terrible conditions in which millions of people lived and died, and have the opportunity to reflect on the past and pay tribute to the victims.
Afterwards, we will head to the Wieliczka salt mines, famous all over the world for their beauty and historical significance. Before starting the visit, we will have some free time to rest and have lunch. After 1,5 hours we will enter the oldest salt mines in the world. We will descend into the depths of the earth to explore the impressive salt-carved chambers, with their statues, chapels and underground lakes. You will learn about the history of these mines, which have been in operation since the 13th century, and discover how salt was extracted and used in the past.
At the end of the tour, you will return to Krakow to the same starting point of the activity.
