Step by Step

Discover three of the Mexican capital's top attractions with this day trip to Teotihuacan, Tlatelolco and the Guadalupe Shrine from Mexico City. Join this approximately 7-hour tour and board a comfortable vehicle from your centrally located hotel. In small groups of about 15 people and with a professional guide visit the pyramids and temples of Teotihuacan, passing through the archaeological ruins of Tlatelolco, to visit the interior of the shrine dedicated to the Virgin of Guadalupe.

In addition to visiting these three indigenous and catholic sites, during the trip you will make a brief stop at a workshop to enjoy a tasting of traditional liquors such as tequila, mezcal or pulque , as well as to learn about their production process.

On this tour you will learn about the memory and history of Tlatelolco, the most important commercial centre of Pre-Hispanic Mexico. You will pass through the Plaza de las Tres Culturas, where the Tlatelolco massacre took place in 1968, and then visit the archaeological site of Tlatelolco. With ruins of different contemporary buildings you will see different temples and buildings such as Quetzalcoatl, Ehecatl and Huitzilopochtli.

Alongside these temples dedicated to the Mexican deities, you will discover with your guide the story of the "lovers of Tlatelolco", as well as the human sacrifices and the mass graves.

You will then make your way to the Sanctuary of Guadalupe, located in the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe. Enter the interior of this temple and explore the place where Guadalupe is said to have appeared to a Mexican Indian. Learn about the history of this 18th century sanctuary and stop to admire a mantle with the image of the Virgin.

You will then continue your tour in Teotihuacan, where you will enjoy some free time for lunch and a short rest. After recharging your batteries, you will visit the so-called City of the Gods, the most visited archaeological site in Mexico. Along with a trip along the Avenue of the Dead you will learn about the origins of this religious city and see the great Pyramids of the Moon and the Sun, as well as the Temples of Quetzalpapalotl. Explore this sacred place together with your small group and get up close to the Temple of Quetzalcoatl, one of the most beautiful buildings of pre-Hispanic Mexico.
