Step by Step

Enjoy a skip-the-line guided tour of the impressive St. Mark's Basilica as you walk through its imposing corridors and mosaics made of pure gold.

You will enter the Basilica in the company of a small group and a professional guide who will explain the history of the Basilica and the masterpieces that surround it, such as the five golden domes made with gold by the most renowned artists of the time. If you prefer, you can also take a private tour, just for you and your group.

Some of the most important attractions of St. Mark's Basilica are:

  • The Sanctuary: the place that gathers treasures collected from all centuries such as gold, glass and silver pieces. Located on the right side of the altar.
  • Museo Di San Marco: here you will find the famous work The Four Bronze Horses, Byzantine sculptures from the XII century, fragments of ancient mosaics and more.
  • St. Mark's Tomb: it was built in a crypt located under the presbytery and after the restoration of the Basilica, the crypt was opened to the public in 1889.
  • St. Mark's Terrace: enjoy breathtaking views of the city.
