Step by Step
Embark on a private tour to Meteora from Athens and discover one of Greece's most breathtaking destinations. After a train journey from Athens, where you can add the option of first class, you will arrive at Kalambaka train station, where your expert guide will be waiting for you.
You will be transferred to Meteora by air-conditioned vehicle. The area is famous for its six rock-hewn monasteries, which offer breathtaking panoramic views:
- St. Nikolas Anapafsas Monastery, a 15th century construction.
- Varlaam Monastery, which also has a museum.
- Monastery of Transformation, which is the best known.
- Monastery of Agia Triada, a 17th century building.
- Monastery of Agiou Stefanou, the oldest monastery dating back to the 14th century.
- Monastery of St. Barbara, a 16th century convent.
During your visit, you will have the opportunity to explore three of these monasteries and learn about their history. Afterwards, you will return to Kalambaka station to catch your train back to Athens.
