Experience Highlights

This guided tour will allow you to get to know, in about 2 hours, one of the most important museums in Paris, although it is often overlooked by tourists. Specifically, it is the Musée de l'Orangerie, a museum that houses a large number of impressionist works, including a large collection by Claude Monet. However, there are also works by other artists such as Matisse, Renoir, Rousseau and Picasso.

A tour guide will accompany you throughout the visit, explaining each of the works. Moreover, so that you can listen to him perfectly, the visit is designed for small groups of a maximum of 8 people. You won't waste any time at the entrance either, as you will get skip-the-line access, i.e. you will enter directly into the museum.

  • Visit the impressionist museum of the Orangerie where a tour guide will explain its works and history.
  • You will be able to enter the museum quickly, without having to wait in line.
  • To facilitate the visit, the maximum number of visitors per tour is 8 people, i.e. for small groups.

What’s included

  • Guided tour of the Orangerie Museum
  • Tourist guide
  • Entrance to the Musée de l'Orangerie
  • Guaranteed queue-free service

Step by Step

Thanks to this visit, you will be able to discover all the main works on display at the Musée de l'Orangerie. Specifically, you will spend about 2 hours learning about a large number of impressionist and post-impressionist works, learning about their history, techniques and meaning thanks to a tour guide. To make your entry to the museum as quick as possible, a skip-the-line ticket is included, so you'll have direct access to the museum without having to wait at the ticket office. In addition, you will be able to watch the works being explained while listening to the guide without any problem, as the maximum capacity per group is 8 people, i.e. small groups.

Throughout the visit you will learn little anecdotes about the authors of the works, as well as the significance of each painting and its impact on both history and art. On the other hand, the building itself also presents a part of the history of Paris. It was built in the 19th century as part of the Tuileries Garden, but Claude Monet converted it into a museum in the 20th century. This decision was made because of the need for more art galleries in the city.

As such, the museum houses a large number of works of art dating from the 19th to 20th century, with mainly impressionist works but also from later periods. Inside is a large collection of Claude Monet's work, including his famous water lily painting, 'Nymphéas', and others such as 'The Clouds'. On the other hand, Monet is not the only Impressionist artist on display. You can find other famous names such as Renoir, Matisse, Rousseau and Cézanne. There are even some paintings by Picasso in which he depicted several nudes.

A lot of artistic content in this museum, although the size does not favour it because it is rather small, I think it is very well used. The works you see in there are incredible.

I was really surprised by this museum, I hadn't heard much about it, but I found everything inside to be super beautiful. It deserves much more recognition.
