Step by Step
This bike tour - regular or electric - takes about 2 hours and is designed for small groups. This route is suitable for a wide audience and includes a local guide who will accompany you around some of the city's main sights:
- Vieux Lyon: the medieval city centre, located between the banks of the Saône and the Fourvière hill. The narrow streets lead to a square where the Saint-Jean Cathedral stands. Another landmark is the traboules, covered passageways linked to the silk industry.
- Place Bellecour: the largest pedestrian square in Europe. In the centre stands a statue dedicated to Louis XIV accompanied by two allegorical figures.
- Parc de la Tête d'Or: a large green area created at the beginning of the 19th century, inspired by the Parisian Bois de Boulogne. Today, the park is home to a large lake, beautiful rose gardens and a zoo with endangered animal species.
- Berges du Rhone: the riverside promenade on the banks of the Rhône. This area has been reborn thanks to an urban redevelopment that has brought cycle paths, green areas and playgrounds.
- Tube Modes Doux: a tunnel for bicycles and public transport connecting Lyon's two rivers. It is located in the Croix-Rousse district and includes projected animations and background music.
You can choose between two departures, in the morning or in the afternoon, which take place in most weather conditions. In case of rain, the tour provides a rain jacket to protect you from the water.
If you've never ridden an electric bike or ebike before, there's no need to worry. It is an intuitive mode of transport and the guide's explanations are sufficient to understand how it works.
