Christiania, Copenhagen's famous free city, is undoubtedly one of Denmark's most popular tourist attractions. It was founded in 1971, when a group of people cut a hole in the fence of the military barracks on Bådmandsgade. Today, many of the original settlers still live in the collectively controlled village, and the area has a distinctly 1970s feel.
For safety reasons, it is important that you also follow all the instructions given to you in the app. But don't worry, it will be an experience.
You will wander around Christiania and visit quite a few points of interest such as:
- The Art Gallery: founder Marios Orozco moved to Christiania in 1981 and decided to take half of his house and rebuild it into a music studio. This is what we know today as the Christiania Art Gallery.
- The Grey Hall: Christiania's largest concert hall. It was originally built in 1891 as a riding hall in the army barracks.
It is an elaborate history presented by talented writers. Once you book, you will receive an email with instructions on how to download and play on your phone.
It is recommended that each user purchase a ticket for an optimal experience, although multiple people can share a phone.
