Step by Step

Discover Christiansborg Palace in Copenhagen with these tickets. With these passes you will have the opportunity to access almost all the rooms in this building, which today houses government and judicial offices. It is 800 years of history that you will have in front of you in a visit that could last around three hours.

Formerly the residence of kings and queens, Christiansborg Palace today houses the Danish Parliament, the Supreme Court and the Ministry of State. On this tour you can see the state rooms and follow in the footsteps of royalty.

You will have the option of doing this tour on your own or joining one of the free guided tours that take place at set times around the palace.

The interior is characterised by gilded halls and decorated rooms, some of which are still used by the royal family for various functions and events. Royal reception rooms include the Tower Hall and the Oval Throne Room, where the Queen receives foreign ambassadors to Denmark. Another impressive room is the Great Hall, where the Queen's tapestries are housed.

But another of the rooms that you can visit and that will surprise you are, without a doubt, the ruins of the palace. Under the main building, you will find the remains of an older castle. When laying the foundations of the current Christiansborg Palace, workmen discovered the ruins of older buildings and the remains of the initial wall that protected the castle from pirates.

After careful inspection, experts at the National Museum revealed that the ruins dated back to 1167. It was the castle of Bishop Absalom, located on a small island in front of the merchant harbour.

It is worth noting that with these passes, you will also get a 50% discount on tickets to the Court Theatre.
