Step by Step

The Mljet National Park, established in 1960, covers the western part of the island and is renowned for its dense forest cover, especially holm oak and pine trees. Upon arrival at the park, you will have the opportunity to explore the two interconnected salt lakes: Veliko Jezero (Big Lake) and Malo Jezero (Small Lake). These lakes are ideal for swimming, kayaking or just relaxing on their shores.

In the centre of Veliko Jezero is the islet of St. Mary, home to a 12th century Benedictine monastery, accessible by a short boat ride. In addition to its natural wonders, Mljet is home to a rich fauna, including mongooses introduced in the 20th century to control the snake population.

During the excursion, you can also enjoy hiking on well-marked trails that take you through lush forests and offer panoramic views of the Adriatic Sea. Don't forget your camera to capture the breathtaking beauty of this natural paradise.
