Step by Step

Cook typical Cambodian dishes with this cooking class in Siem Reap. Specifically, you will go to the home of a local to cook about 4 dishes of typical Khmer food.

Before cooking, you will be picked up in a tuk-tuk and driven to the local market. Here you will buy the ingredients that will be used later in the cooking. However, you don't have to worry about the price of these ingredients as they are included in the class.

Some of Siem Reap's most traditional dishes include the tasty Fish Amok and the famous Tom Yum. You will be able to follow your guide's instructions without any problems as you will be part of a small group of about 6 people in total.

As you will be making these dishes yourself, it will be a way for you to keep the knowledge of how they are made so that you can recreate them again when you return from your trip. At the end of the cooking you will be able to eat all the dishes that have been made during the class. After the activity you can also return to the starting point with the tuk-tuk service.

I discovered that cooking is a unique way to connect with a culture, as each ingredient and cooking technique tells a story in itself.

The intimate setting of the cooking class, limited to just six travellers, created a welcoming space where I was able to interact and learn in a more personalised way.
