Step by Step

A private tour is the perfect way to get to know Montreal, a multi-ethnic metropolis surrounded by lush nature. You can choose the attractions you are most interested in and decide the duration yourself. Generally speaking, these activities range from approximately 2 to 6 hours. Below are the most important landmarks:

  • Notre Dame Basilica - Designed by architect James O'Donnell, it is notable for its neo-Gothic style and particularly striking interior. Its stained glass windows depict the history of Montreal.
  • Montréal Botanical Garden - Opened in 1931, it is one of the three most important botanical gardens in the world. It is divided into some 30 themed gardens, one of the most impressive of which is the Japanese garden with its well-tended bonsai trees.
  • Réso - The underground city that houses hotels, houses, shops and much more. It was built to cope with the harsh winter temperatures.
  • Mount Royal - Montreal's most important park. It dominates the city and is a major destination for nature and outdoor sports enthusiasts. It is home to the Oratoire Saint Joseph, a church recognisable by its large dome.
  • Vieux-Port - 2.5 kilometres of pedestrian and cycle paths along the St. Lawrence River. Here you will find the big Ferris wheel and the Centre des Sciences museum.
  • Rue Sainte Catherine - The city's most important shopping street, with shops of all kinds and for all budgets.
  • Chinatown - The neighbourhood that hosts a large Asian colony. If you like oriental food and culture, this is the place for you.
  • Musée des Beaux-Arts - The extraordinary collection includes Canadian, Inuit, contemporary, Japanese and even ancient art.

How much time you spend walking around is entirely up to you. In any case, it is advisable to bring a bottle of water and comfortable clothes and shoes.

The guided tour is amazing, it allows you to get to know Montreal in great depth and you can visit very beautiful places. It was a pity that the weather was not the most pleasant for this type of tour on the day I went. I highly recommend it.

The best option I have found to get to know Montreal. Everything felt very personalised and I got to visit the places I most wanted to see and learnt a lot about them all. Highly recommended.
