Step by Step

Meet animals from all over the world with this skip-the-line ticket to Schoenbrunn Zoo in Vienna . Step into the nature and wildlife of the world's oldest zoo to see over 700 species of different animals. See pandas, elephants, Siberian tigers, rhinos and more at this fantastic UNESCO World Heritage attraction. Discover interesting facts about rare species and enjoy this unique blend of culture, nature, biodiversity and imperial charm.

Located in the grounds of Schoenbrunn Palace, which was founded in 1752 by Emperor Franz I Stephan von Lothringen, this park is today the best zoo in Europe. Unique breeding successes such as the first breeding of the Batagur tortoise and the fiddler frog have made the zoo renowned far beyond Austria's borders.

With an area of 17 hectares, the zoo provides a habitat for more than 650 species of animals, some of which are endangered. You'll discover orangutans swinging on ropes, Siberian tigers sleeping and cute koalas savouring piles of eucalyptus leaves. You'll also see African elephants wallowing in their mud baths and little meerkats rolling and digging in the sand.

On top of it all, you'll meet the zoo's most famous stars, the giant panda bears . Take a journey through the various areas of animal life and get lost in the rainforest house, which is home to a rich variety of tropical flora and fauna. Whether it's arctic or African savannah, rainforest or native forest and aquatic landscapes, visit the aquarium and terrarium house to see glistening fish and fascinating reptiles.

Take an underwater peek at seals and penguins in the polar house, and head out on an interactive nature trail to see the home of many native animals. You'll find everything from woodpeckers to salamanders and dangerous snakes that inhabit Austria.

Enjoy this exotic experience and learn more about nature conservation and the protection of these wild and native species.

To see the whole zoo you need several hours so it's best to go early in the morning! There are several places to eat as well

Spectacular, I think my favourite animal was the polar bear! I've been to several zoos around the world and I've never seen one before.

Fair price. If you are going with very young children I think the guide is not very necessary. There are several signs and maps with which you can easily find your way around.
